The Recreation Therapist is responsible for assessment, implementation, facilitation, and documentation related to the Therapeutic Recreation activities within the facility. Assess each resident's leisure function and interests upon admission and repeat if needed. Develop care plans based on all assessment findings. Implement Therapeutic Recreation Programming to meet the specific goals laid out in the care plan. Evaluate the effectiveness of TR Programs in meeting the interests if the residents and achieving care plan goals. Document resident progress as required by regulation and department policy. Maintain attendance records for all Therapeutic Recreation programs. Maintain statistical data detailing each resident's participation in TR programs. Participate in all Corporate, Facility, and Departmental Quality Assurance initiatives. Plan and implement special events. Plan and implement community outings. Attend all inservices, staff meetings, care plan meetings, and other meetings as necessary. Participate in interdepartmental committees as assigned. Transport residents to and from TR programs. Supervision of volunteers. Setup and operate all necesary equipment for TR programs. Ensure that adequate leisure supplies are available and inform supervisor of supplies that need to be ordered. Develop and post monthly calendar of TR activities on resident unit and at each resident's bedside. Other related assignments as necessary.
